Helen Doyle was announced as Outstanding Board Person of the Year by Green Communities Canada. Helen has served as Board Secretary on Windfall's Board of Directors for 14 years and was recognized for her leading role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization.

Windfall Ecology Centre received the Town of Aurora's Community Recognition Green Award. Presented annually the award Honours an individual or organization that supports the protection, preservation, sustainability or conservation of our natural environment, this award celebrates those who share the Town's commitment to creating a greener community.

Our own Brent Kopperson has been announced as the recipient of York Region's Character Community Award. The award is presented annually to an individual or organization that demonstrates character in making effective community changes in our world. Brent is the founder and Executive Director of Windfall Centre.

Green Communities Canada's RAIN Community Solutions program, a program delivered in York Region by Windfall Centre, was a recipient of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change Minister's Award for Environmental Excellence.
