Can videos contain music?

Music used in videos cannot be copy-righted - it must be royalty-free.

Any music used in a video must be accompanied by the appropriate permissions and clearances.

Proof of clearance may be requested by *Solar Idol and Windfall staff if the video is selected as a finalist.

Again, there is royalty-free music online, but royalty-free does not mean free!

We encourage students to create their own sound effects, music and narration for their videos.
