Home Retrofit Program Now Closed!

The ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes Program, which provides grants to home owners who complete energy efficiency retrofits is now closed. Homeowners were required to complete their post-retrofit evaluation prior to June 30th 2012 in order to be eligible for ecoENERGY grants.

If you completed your post-retrofit evaluation prior to June 30th, most homeowners receive their grant cheques within 90 days after their post-retrofit evaluation.

What has changed under the renewed program as of June 6, 2011?

The following are the two most important changes to the program as of June 6, 2011.

1. Homeowners were required to register directly with the program before booking their pre- or post-retrofit energy evaluation. By tracking program participation in this way, NRCan aims to ensure that all eligible homeowners who enter the program have the opportunity to apply for a grant.

2. Homeowners must now provide receipts to their energy advisor at the time of the post-retrofit evaluation to confirm that products and equipment were purchased after June 6, 2011 and installed after a pre-retrofit evaluation (since April 2007).
