Green Communities Canada (GCC) is a national association of non-profit community-based organizations that deliver innovative environmental programs and services.
For over a decade Green Communities have been helping homeowners make sustainable choices in the use of environmental resources. Our Advisors have made over a hundred thousand home visits advising homeowners about the contributions they can make to improve the quality of our air, water and soil.
In 1997, Green Communities piloted EnerGuide for Houses, a rating system developed by Natural Resources Canada, to analyze energy performance and home comfort. By April 2007, when this program was replaced by ecoENERGY Retrofit, Green Communities was the leading provider of the service in Canada with over 60,000 EnerGuide ratings in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Nova Scotia. The Green Communities ecoENERGY service rides on the back of this vast residential energy efficiency experience and extensive delivery infrastructure.
