Why Install Solar Panels?

  • With Ontario's Green Energy Act and Feed In Tariff (FIT) programs, installing Solar Panels provides a very competitive rate of return on your investment with monthly payments for the electricity you produce and a guaranteed 20-year FIT contract. Solar Panels are long lasting, require little maintenance and provide a long term, low risk investment.
  • Since the launch of the FIT Program, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) has signed about 2,000 small and large FIT contracts with clean energy producers. These contracts total approximately 4,600 MW and are expected to produce enough electricity each year to power 1.2 million homes. In addition, almost 12,000 families, farmers, community groups and small businesses are participating in the microFIT Program.

How Ontario's FIT and microFIT Programs Work

Your Windfall installed solar panels convert the sun's energy into electricity

The electricity produced by your solar panels flows into the Ontario Power Grid

The clean energy you provide is used by Ontario homes and business for their power needs

Each month you receive payment from your local power distribution company for the electricity you produce

You are paid a fixed price per kWh for electricity produced by your Solar Panel installation. This ensures consistent cash returns over the 20 year term of your power purchase agreement with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA).

Investing in Solar Panels

Our Roof-Top Solar Panel Array

A 2.1KW Solar Panel Array is installed on the roof of the garage outside our offices in Aurora Ontario. A crew of three installed our nine panels in one day. We receive 80.2 cents per kilowatt hour of electricity generated from the PV Array and you can see up-to-date information on our panel's electricity generation online.
